Venerable Luangpu Pramote Pamojjo

Wat Suan Santidham, Thailand
Translated by Shi Ne Ling

The true knower mind is weightless,
Extremely thin and light,
silent and wordless.
The true knower mind is weightless.
If we feel weight, heaviness,
That’s not it,
We have desire,
We have craving controlling us,
It has a feeling of heaviness.
Lightness,
Is just momentary,
Moment by moment.
If we feel—
The knower mind lasts continuously throughout the whole day,
That’s not it, that’s Samatha.
It is extremely thin and light,
in the present moment.
The present moment is not an hour,
The present moment is not a minute, right?
Even a second has gaps.
If we are truly in the present moment,
It is very little, extremely thin and light,
And then silent and wordless,
Without excessive speech.
If we are developing wisdom,
And the mind is still constantly explaining and talking,
About wisdom, the Three Characteristics, and so on,
That’s not real.
It is just the moment the mind knows the truth,
Moment by moment,
Without excessive speech.
If the mind expounds on many doctrines,
That’s not the true one.
Therefore Venerable Chao Kun Nuo said:
“The real thing is silent and wordless,
What can speak is not real.”
